- What can I do as a volunteer?
- Volunteer Coordinator
- This volunteer helps create fund raising events, makes phone calls to other volunteers to fill the schedules for events and coordinates the volunteers with their job preferences. A very important job!
- On-Air Membership Drives
- Volunteers are needed to help answer telephones and fill out pledge forms during the on-air membership drives. Volunteers work a two to three-hour shift (shifts are scheduled at various times during the day).
- Direct Mail
- WCBU89.9 is always sending out letters to potential members. Volunteers help fold letters, stuff envelopes and get the mailings out.
- Assist with Events (Wine Tasting, Record Sale, etc.) Volunteers are important in carrying out the specifics for fundraising projects, social events and receptions. Some of the various jobs are working the cash register, moving and sorting records or taking tickets.
- Call-Outs
- Annually, WCBU sends out letters to lapsed members for renewal. Then, volunteers get together for one night to call these individuals and get pledges.
- Volunteer Membership
- Volunteers are always needed and WCBU 89.9 needs volunteers to help find other volunteers.
- Radio Information Service (RIS)
- These volunteers read newspapers, periodicals, classic and contemporary literature for broadcast. Special receivers are made available to visually impaired or physically disabled people who cannot read printed materials.
- How can I find out more about becoming a volunteer? Thank you again for your interest and support. We look forward to working with you. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call Betty Beard, our Membership Manager at (309) 677-3868 or e-mail her at bbeard@bradley.edu.
