A statement from the Heartland Partnership says the resignation of CEO and President Jim McConoughey is effective.  McConoughey has been the director of the Heartland Partnership family of businesses for ten years. His departure, effective July 25th, coincides with the agency having financial struggles and a broad based consultant study that called into question the operation’s effectiveness.
The statement from the Heartland Partnership board says McConoughey has provided valuable leadership to the company and the region. McConoughey says both he and the organization will benefit from his decision to pursue other opportunities. The statement says McConoughey has made significant contributions to the growth of the region’s economy citing his contributions to developments including Peoria Next, The Cancer Research Center at the College of Medicine, and the regional Economic Scorecard.
The search for a new CEO of the Heartland Partnership and its related organizations is to begin immediately.
