Central Illinois is taking steps toward crafting a new economic development strategy for the region. More than 250 elected officials, business and community leaders gathered at the Civic Center to discuss building a strategy for Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford and Mason Counties. It’s one of five recommendations offered in consultant Frank Knott of Vital Economy’s study. The study also calls for significant restructuring of the Heartland Partnership and the Central Illinois Economic Development Council. Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano reports: |
