A Caterpillar dealer is purchasing a portion of the company’s Bucyrus Distribution business. Hewitt Equipment Limited signed an agreement for itself and its subsidiary company to acquire part of Bucyrus.
Hewitt will gain the distribution and support business in the province of Quebec, Western Labrador and the Maritimes.
The transaction is expected to close on August 1. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.  Caterpillar sold pieces of Bucyrus to other dealers in Australia, New South Wales and South Africa earlier this year.
