The Peoria City Council overwhelmingly approved a series of measures to move further ahead with the Tiger II /Warehouse District Project. The first measure ensures the city will receive the $8 million in federal grant money for the TIGER II area surrounding Washington Street. The Council also approved a nearly $1.4 million dollar contract with Terra Engineering to handle the third phase of Construction Engineering Services for the project. “That’s the portion of the project that will deal with engineering services to oversee the construction. What we will be doing in the very near future is issuing a bid letting in which we will find out what that construction costs will be to do all of this work in the Tiger II area,” says Peoria City Manager Patrick. Urich says the council also needs to identify how the city will pay for its $3.1 million dollar match for the federal grant. Further he says next month city staff will recommend ways the council may want to handle the concerns some have with the one-way streets in the Warehouse District and beyond.
The Peoria City Council also approved Dewberry Architects to handle project review on the Pere Marquette Hotel Project. |
