In the last year the drug Heroin has reportedly grown in popularity and use across the country. The issue has recently taken a pronounced upturn among young people in the greater Peoria region. Its being recognized because of deaths and emergency rooms treating overdoses. Peoria Public Radio’s Tanya Koonce reports it has some officials calling for a community awareness effort:
