Non-profit group to discuss "fair tax" system

The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability is offering ways to fix the state’s fiscal woes. The non-profit research group is hosting an event in Peoria to discuss why the state should have a so-called ‘fair tax’ where those who make more pay more in taxes.  The presentation will also support the premise that budget cuts hurt the economy. The Center is proposing a so called “fair” tax as a means to stop drastic cuts to state services and at the same time giving families tax relief. The event is 6 tonight (Tuesday) at the Peoria Labor Temple.
