Peoria County’s new senior care facility has a name. Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano reports: The Board unanimously approved calling the new nursing home Headdington Oaks. The name was narrowed down from 50 possibilities developed by an outside marketing firm and an internal elder care marketing committee. The name is a combination of Heading Avenue where the new facility is being built, and the wooded area surrounding the site. Headdington Oaks sits in County Board member Jimmy Dillon’s district. He says the selecting a name benefits those set to live in the new facility next year:
“It’s going to be a comfort level I hope for the residents to know where they can call their new home instead of just a bland Peoria County senior care nursing facility,” Dillon says. “I believe everybody’s excited about it, it’s been a great process to get to where we’re at today and I’m extremely proud of the name that was chosen.”
The marketing firm that helped develop the name is Florida-based Wilesmith Advertising and Design. The firm will develop a marketing plan to help brand the $45 million facility to residents in the coming months. Headdington Oaks is set to open its doors next spring. |
