Cat to sell off portion of Bucyrus distribution business Submitted by Denise Molina on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 12:00pm A Caterpillar dealer is buying a portion of the company’s Bucyrus Distribution business. Barloworld signed an agreement with Caterpillar to acquire the equipment distribution and support business in South Africa and Botswana. The transaction also includes the purchase of two other distribution and mining services businesses. The deal is valued at about 175-million dollars. The purchase is expected to close in the third quarter of the year. The parties continue discussions on the possible purchase of the former Bucyrus distribution and support businesses in Russia and Iberia.
