Water interruption for some IL American Water customers Submitted by Denise Molina on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 6:06am Some area residents will temporarily be without running water today. Illinois American Water will shut off service beginning at nine this morning in Mossville at Sherman Road as well as in areas to the north. Neighborhoods that will be impacted include Mossville, Rome, Woodland Heights, Pinewood Estates, Edgewater, and Galena Knolls. Water service is expected to be restored at nine tonight. Then customers will be under a boil order for at least the next 36 hours or until notified otherwise. That means customers in the affected area should bring tap water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using for drinking or cooking. Tap water is reportedly suitable for bathing, laundry, and other common non-ingestion purposes.
