Kellogg Golf Course to reopen Friday

The one-million dollar renovation of Kellogg Golf course is complete. The Peoria Park District is officially re-opening the popular course in time for Memorial Day weekend. It closed at the end of last summer for a makeover.

The project included converting the greens and fairways to bent grass, constructing new sand traps, redesigning the tees, and installing a new drainage system. Tim Cassidy is the President of the Park District Board. He says the goal of the renovations is to make the course attractive regionally.

"The park district's proud of its golf heritage and as we move into the future, I think by doing the vast improvements to Kellogg, it just makes the future even brighter," says Cassidy.

The one-million dollar project also included the renovation of the pro-shop and restaurant. The grand opening of the golf course is at noon.
