A former Peoria resident and Bradley University economics professor died Thursday.  Bradley president Joanne Glasser says Jane Ising died on her 110th birthday.  Ising earned her doctorate in economics at the University of Berlin in the 1920s.  She later came to Peoria after escaping Europe during World War Two.  Ising also helped start the local Planned Parenthood chapter and was involved in the League of Women Voters.  Ising died at Applewood Nursing Home in Matteson, Illinois.  Glasser says a memorial service for Ising will be held in Peoria next month.
