Sullivan makes it official for the 46th

Republican Pat Sullivan made official his candidacy for the 46th State Senate Monday.  The Warehouse district business-owner filed his papers for the seat two months ago.  Sullivan says one of his top priorities if elected will be repealing last year’s income tax increase to help boost business growth.
“We’ve got to get that tax base back into Illinois. And if we don’t start making it friendly, these factories and jobs will keep going by us.  We’ve got to start doing stuff to keep these jobs and get everything done,” says Sullivan.
Helping small businesses and cutting excessive spending are other top priorities for Sullivan.  He is the only Republican in the March primary for the 46th District Senate seat.  Democratic incumbent Dave Koehler is seeking re-election.  He faces James Polk and Marvin Bainter in the March 20th primary.
