Residents share thoughts on crime, Don’t Shoot initiative

Tuesday was a busy day for those in Peoria looking to take back their community from violent crime.  Library officials launched the special ‘Don’t Shoot’ reading project.  The community initiative also took place during the National Night Out Against Crime with events involving residents, businesses and community groups.  The night started with a ‘peace walk’ in the East Bluff.  Residents also shared what they hope the ‘Don’t Shoot’ project and annual event can do for their neighborhoods:
