After months and months of requests from WBEZ and other media outlets, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is finally allowing reporters into prisons. It’s a step in the right direction but it took the threat of a federal law suit from Chicago Public Radio station, WBEZ. And Quinn’s administration continues to throw up roadblocks to meaningful transparency. Illinois Public Radio’s Robert Wildeboer reports on our recent legal efforts and the state’s new media policy.
