The city of Peoria has a balanced budget in place for 2013. The Peoria City Council approved a more than $188 million spending plan Tuesday night. The last time the city approved a budget this early was about 10 years ago. City government was undergoing a restructuring at that time. The changes that have taken place in city government over the last year have also amounted to a significant restructuring.
