The Heartland Partnership now has a new interim CEO. The organization announced Cal MacKay will take over the role beginning today. He recently retired as the Methodist Medical Center Chief Financial Officer after ten years of service. He’s also the secretary/treasurer of the Peoria Riverfront Museum Board of Directors and President of the WD Boyce Council of Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors. MacKay is taking over after Jim McConoughey resigned from the Heartland Partnership July 25th. An outside economic consultant recently recommended the organization’s restructuring to make it more effective. The group is also facing significant financial challenges. Heartland Partnership Board Chair Mark Spenny says MacKay is the right person to get the organization through the transition.
