Peoria District 150 is one of 17 school districts around the state receiving state money for the arts. The Illinois State Board of Education announced Wednesday it’s giving Peoria schools more than 48-thousand dollars for a world drumming curriculum. It’s part of nearly 872-thousand dollars in grants awarded around the state to bolster local arts and foreign language programs.
